Construction Services - Utility 

Location: Lower Mainland & BC (field-based)
 

Marclay Group is a BC-based, owner-led contractor providing construction, mechanical, and utility support services. We work closely with utilities, municipalities, and infrastructure partners on projects that require a high level of safety, coordination, and professionalism.

Role Description

 

This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area.

 

The Construction Services – Utility role focuses on field coordination, construction oversight, inspections, reporting, and utility infrastructure support across active project sites. The successful candidate will support safe, efficient, and well-coordinated project execution across a variety of utility and infrastructure projects.

 

The position may also support a range of Marclay operations, including civil utility construction, excavation and trenching, utility services, and foreman-level field support.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Support field coordination and construction oversight activities

  • Complete daily reports and field observations

  • Monitor work for compliance with drawings, permits, specifications, and safety requirements

  • Assist with inspections, leak survey programs, and infrastructure assessments

  • Coordinate with contractors, utilities, inspectors, and project stakeholders

  • Support excavation, trenching, utility installations, and restoration activities

  • Identify and document deficiencies, risks, and non-conformances

 

Preferred Experience

 

  • Utility or civil construction

  • Excavation and trenching operations

  • Utility services or leak survey programs

  • Field inspections and reporting

  • Foreman or field leadership support

Qualifications

 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently in active field environments

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

  • Experience reading drawings and project documentation is an asset

  • Certifications such as Ground Disturbance Level II, Occupational First Aid, BC Hydro Electrical Safety for Trades & Workers, PCST, or API 1169 are considered assets
